Conjour, or Conservation Journal, is an online magazine focussed on the conservation industry. They cover animal conservation projects, zoology and wildlife photography. Because their aim is to reach a broad audience with engaging news on the natural world, they needed a professional website that people would trust as a source of information. Here’s what we did.
Website Design & Development
The owner of Conjour originally had us help them with a previous design they had in mind, but with the site growing and needing to expand its usability, he asked us to design a new-look website that was more trustworthy for a new-seeking crowd, and that would help boost user retention and lower bounce rates. We built Conjour a beautiful online publication portal that keeps readers on the website and makes them want to return.
Conservation and, indeed, all content nowadays, is a competitive industry to break into, so it was important that – whilst Conjour were happy to do some of the day-to-day SEO tasks that we walked them through – we gave them a firm foundation to kick on from. A lot goes in to the backend of successful website optimisation, and the team at Conjour were thankful it wasn’t left up to them!
This project involved a site migration, meaning a handover in terms of web hosting. We have resources at Wolf to make this a far easier transition than it otherwise might be, and we’re in the process of easing Conjour back into the hosting role for their brand new site.
